Salesforce1 – Use XfilesPro on mobile devices

How to view XfilesPro on Salesforce1
To be able to view XfilesPro on Salesforce1, we need to make some settings in Classic. So, please switch to Classsic view.
Let’s say we configured an external storage on Account object. We have an account created – Burlington Poly Industries.
Create a new visualforce page by update the following information –
  • Name: AccountAttachments
  • Please note: If this VF page with the below code is already created, then you do not have to create another one. You can use the existing VF page: AccountAttachments and proceed to the next steps.
  • Place the below code:
<apex:page showHeader="false" standardController="Account" standardStylesheets="false">
    <xfiles:XFileList recordId="{!Account.Id}" />

Where Account is the API name of the standard object.

  • Check the box which says – ‘Available for Salesforce mobile apps and Lightning Page’
  • Click on SAVE.

  • Open a record in Account object. If you do not have a record in your Account object, then please create one and open that record.
  • Once a record is open, click on Edit Page Layout of the record.
  • Drag and drop VF page: AccountAttachments in Mobile Cards layout like the below screen

  • On the same screen, you will see Salesforce1 and Lightning Experience. Click on ‘override the predefined actions’ link and it will expand and show as the below screens.
  • Go to the Enhanced Page Layout Editor and click on Salesforce & Lightning Actions.
  • Drag xAttach and drop it in Salesforce1 and Lightning Experience layout, ensuring that xAttach is the first component. See the below screenshot –
  • After clicking on SAVE, you will be able to see the XfilesPro component on your object.
  • Once these settings are made, launch Salesforce on your mobile device and you should be able to see the XfilesPro button on the bottom-right corner.
  • When you click on that icon, it will ask you to upload files. Please see the below screenshot –

Click on xAttach button to upload seamlessly on your desired custom objects. As you can see in the below screenshot, we uploaded a file.

Once the file is uploaded, it shows up in section: Attachments.

Let’s open the file and the file will preview like the below screen with download & delete options on the right-hand corner.

Congratulations! Your XfilesPro is now set up completely and you are all set to access it in Salesforce1. With these simple steps, you can seamlessly upload files in your desired standard objects you created.
